AggroGamer: “Well it only took a little over a month, but LittleBigPlanet Karting can now be considered announced. ModNation Racers Road Trip: Out and About!
Lately I’ve been spending a great deal of time outside the studio and, I must say, the positive reception the game is receiving from those that get their hands on the game has been outstanding. From in-store demo stations to my local “corner coffee station” to my kid’s little league team each and every comment is similar to “I’ve got to get this!”
But hey, don’t just take my word for it. Below is a random screenshot* from my personal Vita’s "near" feature showing what I and many others have experienced: players are loving this game! After only a few minutes of hands–on time with ModNation Racers: Road Trip they realize just how much long-lasting fun this title has to offer. That’s all we can ask for. Give it a play or two and you’ll be sold. The game speaks for itself!... Read More»

BATMAN: ARKHAM CITY and the douchebag in all of us
It’s late in Arkham Asylum. Dawn will break soon and it seems like the nightmare Joker would unleash onto Gotham was averted. The game is about to end, but, before it does, a call about Two-Face is overheard on the radio. It seems Batman: Arkham Asylum is all but over for Commissioner Gordon, you and me. But not Batman. He flies off to handle another crisis in Gotham City. He must endure. The game offers us a taste of what it is like being Bats, but just a taste. What that ending says is that never truly became him. His martyrdom must continue after the credits rolls.
Sometime after the first game, mayor Quincy Sharp, former warden of Arkham, together with the help of Dr. Hugo Strange, reallocated all criminals to a closed-off area in Gotham City and named that new prison Arkham City. The developer’s goal in doing this is pretty straight forward: to finally get the full experience of being Batman, as he scours the city for criminal activity.
In doing so, what they have managed to do was to corrupt all that understanding of what it means to be Batman that was so well-crafted in the first game. Batman is no longer a hero. He is a “video game hero”, with all game manias that entails... Read More»
Epic Mickey 2: Warren Spector Explains the Power of Two
When Epic Mickey launched in 2010, PS3 owners could be forgiven for feeling a wee bit left out. The game was an ambitious, passionate love letter to decades of rich Disney history, casting a newly assertive Mickey Mouse in a bittersweet tale set against a backdrop of decaying Disney lore.
But sometimes patience pays off. Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two is coming to PS3 this fall with extensive support for PlayStation Move, vastly improved HD graphics, and a host of much-requested improvements. I spoke with Creative Director Warren Spector to learn more about Epic Mickey 2, his work on the Deus Ex series, and his early thoughts on PS Vita. For more, listen to our full conversation on the latest episode of Official PlayStation Blogcast... Read More»

PlayStation Blogcast 017: Warren Spector Slips Us an Epic Mickey
Today’s show is a wee bit late...but for good reason! With full details on Disney’s Epic Mickey: The Power of Two rolling out wide right this very moment, we cajoled threatened convinced veteran game designer and Epic Mickey creative director Warren Spector to join us on our humble slipshod industry-leading podcast. In my youth, I saw Spector as a god given his key role developing legendary games such as Deus Ex, Thief, Wing Commander and many more. Warren describes his work on Epic Mickey: The Power of Two -- out this fall on PS3 with PlayStation Move support -- as well as his thoughts on Deus Ex: Human Revolution and PS Vita, working with cartoon mice instead of cyberpunk assassins, and much more.
Today’s show also welcomes Sean Hollister, West Coast Editor of sexy new gadget website The Verge. We have a grand ol’ time talking Journey (spoilers!), Mass Effect 3’s ending (OMG moar spoilers!), and our favorite game of all time. And, per usual, we also reveal next week’s PSN lineup and serve up a slew of new user questions and user tips. Don’t forget: Submitting helpful user tips or good user questions might net you a free PSN game, so don’t hold back!... Read More»
