The PS Vita and 3DS are not all that different. Of course they are different companies with different games with different features and a different crowd of fans but they are both hand held systems with an original steep price. Both of these handheld systems have started off with a steep price and not as many sells as was expected. So the 3DS took a step and changed that with a price cut and their sales dramatically increased however Sony does not plan to do the same with the slow moving sells of the PS Vita.
What seems to be a sensible decision for the public is not to Sony. Sony is planning on convincing people to by their handheld by giving it as much content as they possibly can. They wish to add more games and services to force fans to need to buy the device because they believe it is a reasonable price for what the PS Vita is and what it can do. The only mention of a price cut revolved around the memory card because that is an added expense that players need in order to be able to play the already expensive console.
All of that information is great news for those who already own a PS Vita; the more content the better right? However we do not feel that it is the best way to dramatically boost sales. The Vita already has so much to offer and it’s not that people don’t want it it’s that most people can’t fit the heavy price in the budget.
