Battlefield 3 has just recently had a new patch (1.03) released specifically for the Playstation 3 version fixing a number of things including the know VoIP issues. This will fix the voice chat problems on the Playstation 3 with the game.
DICE and Alan Kertz had announced an extensive overhaul patch coming in February for Battlefield 3 issues as well as accessories. The developer posted a detailed patch and ideas for it a while ago, but the PS3 1.03 Patch does not seem to be it with its 11MB size, but I may be wrong.
