On first glance of the Daily Mail website, you’d be mistaken for thinking it was some sort of cheery girl’s magazine, where boobs and relationship gossip are spun about like yarn, harmlessly sitting in a glossy cover on a shelf beneath the pornography and next to the ‘Pretentious Homes Quarterly’ section. For our more American readers, specifically all of our readers, it’s actually a newspaper. Not just any ‘newspaper’, it has the second biggest circulation in the United Kingdom of all daily newspapers, this fact scares the living arse off of me.
The aforementioned article, attacking the former Prime-minister’s wife and son for being involved in a company who produce videogames. This company is called Magnitude Gaming, who quite frankly I’ve never heard of before, but apparently they’re the guys behind Counter Strike. The Daily Mail describes Counter Strike as a ‘combat game, which pits anti-terror officers against gun-toting terrorists in highly realistic, graphic battles’. Close guys, but no cigar. This statement may have been slightly more true say, when Counter Strike was released but by no means is it ‘realistic’ and anybody who can’t make that distinction is a definite threat to society and its inhabitants.
