Amazon has announced a new gamer-centric API for Kindle Fire which it hopes will bring more developers on board the Android-powered tablet.
GameCircle will allow developers to add integrated achievements, leaderboards and cloud save synchronisation to games published for the Kindle Fire – something like iOS’s Game Centre, presumably.
As Joystiq notes, that last one is a pressing concern, as the tablet only sports about 6GB of memory, which isn’t much room for old saves.
A handful of developers have already taken advantage of the new system to add features to existing games, notably Doodle Jump and Temple Run.
