Infinity Ward legal struggle to go to trial May 29

A date has been set for the trial between Call of Duty publisher Activision and former Infinity Ward leaders Jazon West and Vince Zampella.

GameInformer reports the drawn-out case will go to trial from May 29, having been delayed at Activision’s request from a scheduled May 7 commencement.

The complicated case involves several suits and counter-suits; the ex-Infinity Ward staffers are suing Activision for breach of contract and unpaid royalties, while Activision has implicated EA in a headhunting scandal.

The whole shebang began in July 2009 when West and Zampella were famously escorted from the Infinity Ward offices by security. The pair have since founded a new studio, Respawn Entertainment, attracting numerous former Infinity Ward staffers, and signed on with EA.
