For the first time in the current generation of systems, the PS3 led sales for the month of September 2009 over its console rivals. With a new model known as the PS3 Slim and a $300 price tag, consumers purchased nearly a half million units long before the holiday season officially kicks off. The system had a comfortable 30,000 unit lead over the Wii and nearly a 150,000 lead over the Xbox 360. Read more
