Uncharted Movie by Written by National Treasure Scribes

According to Variety, the writers of Disney's National Treasure -- Marianne and Cormac Wibberley -- have been tapped to "rewrite" Uncharted: Drake's Fortune for Sony Pictures.

Thankfully, Neil Burger (Limitless) is no longer involved to helm the movie. If you didn't know, Burger was set to shoot an Uncharted movie that greatly deviated from the game's main premise. It was reported that Burger was set to cast Mark Walhberg as Nathan Drake and he wanted a "family of thieves" to be the cornerstone of the flick.

Now that Burger's out, Sony will wait on the Wibbereley duo to finish writing the script before getting a new director.

In addition to Sony Pictures, Charles Roven and Alex Gartner are producing for Atlas, while Avi and Ari Arad will produce the flick through their Arad Productions firm.

Aside from National Treasure, the Wibbereley duo also penned Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle. Yeah, I know what you're thinking; those aren't exactly high-quality flicks to be used as comparison points, but let's hope Uncharted's movie adaptation fares better.

Who would you like to see star as Nathan Drake? Come to think of it, are you okay with the writers of Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle being anywhere near the Uncharted movie?
