Where the Wii both made its biggest success but also biggest mistake was in the controller. The Nintendo Wii’s controller was for everyone, not just gamers. This sold Wii consoles by the millions but also lost the interest of the hardcore gamer. With the release of the Wii U just around the corner Nintendo needed to make some changes to catch the hardcore gamer’s eyes again.
A big change coming to the Wii U is that multiplatform games will be appearing on the console. With that being said these game will most liking not be taking advantage of the Wii U’s touch screen controller. For that reason gamers are finally seeing exactly what the hardcore gamer wanted, an alternative controller option! The new controller option is called the Wii U Pro Controller and looks very similar to those on the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360.
This option disregards the touch screen option completely with shoulder buttons, analog sticks and everything else the hardcore gamer could ask for. The only question now is will this controller be an option for every game on the Wii U?
