Ni No Kuni: Wizard’s Edition Gifts Europe With Actual Spell Book

Level-5 and Studio Ghibli’s upcoming PS3 exclusive Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch is already looking like (ahem) magic, and the game’s special “Wizard’s Edition” is going right along with that theme.

Along with extra downloadable content and an adorable plush toy, the European collector’s edition also comes with a 300+ page “Wizard’s Companion” hardcover book. Namco Bandai UK has the full details:

The full-colour Wizard’s Companion contains a bestiary of all the creatures found in the game along with in-depth item descriptions, spells and history of the other world.  The limited-run Wizard’s Edition will also contain a plush doll of Drippy, Oliver’s guide through his adventures, as well as exclusive “golden mite” and “golden drongo” DLC familiars.

Anyone looking for this special edition in the “EMEA and Australasia” regions should be able to spot it right alongside the standard version thanks to the big, white box.

Level-5 and Studio Ghibli have been getting a lot of mileage out of Ni no Kuni—originally debuting in Japan for the Nintendo 3DS in 2010, it got a great reception form Weekly Famitsu magazine, which awarded the game a 38 out of 40 rating. Since then, it’s been full steam ahead for the PS3 version, which released on November 17th, 2011 in Japan, gaining a 36 out of 40 from Famitsu.

We’ve all had to wait for a bit, though—Ni no Kuni doesn’t release in Europe (or North America) till late January 2013.
