BioWare Talks Mass Effect 3: ‘Leviathan’ and ‘Firefall’ Price, Info, Details

Not one to be left out the EA news cycle today, BioWare recently posted an update to their blog with more information about the Mass Effect 3 DLC updates ‘Leviathan’ and ‘Firefall’—the former of which will include new weapons and more hours of single-player gameplay. There’s no release date for Leviathan, but Firefall will be downloadable on August 7th.

BioWare isn’t revealing spoilers for the DLC, but if you’ve been keeping up to date, you know the whole plot already.

Mass Effect 3‘s Leviathan DLC will also unlock some new areas in the Citadel, and it sounds like there will be new sections and/or planets in the galaxy that you can explore:

Explore uncharted systems and new areas on the Citadel, interact with brand new characters, unlock the AT-12 Raider shotgun and M-55 Argus Assault Rifle and discover more about the mysterious history of the Reapers.

Unlike the ‘Extended Cut’ and multiplayer DLC that’s been released so far, ‘Leviathan’ won’t be free. It hits PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC with a price tag of 800 Microsoft Points (Xbox 360) or $10 (PlayStation 3, PC).

‘Firefall’ is the less expensive pack in the pair, adding “two powerful new weapons and five bonus weapons” to the single-player campaign for 120 Microsoft Points (Xbox 360) or two dollars (PlayStation 3, PC). At that price, though, why not make it free?
