Today, Borderlands 2 developer Gearbox Software had two announcements to make: That the game is officially finished, and that work is now being done on the game’s post-launch DLC.
“Today, we have some exciting new to share about Borderlands 2—the game is headed to certification,” the developer declared today on their official blog.
With the game heading to certification, that means no more work can be done or changes made to what you’ll be getting on the disc when it hits on September 18th. With that work complete, the team at Gearbox is shifting their efforts to the game’s post-launch content—such as the Mechromancer, the new character class that members of the Borderlands 2 Premiere Club will be getting for free 60~90 days after launch.
(The Borderlands 2 Premiere Club is a set of bonus content you’ll get if you pre-order the game, which includes not only the Mechromancer, but also a fortune-boosting Vault Hunter’s Relic, a set of unique golden guns, and a golden key, for unlocking a “rare item in the mysterious Sanctuary Loot Chest”.)
